A Dallas-Fort Worth Airport committee has given preliminary approval to a proposal that would offer incentives of up to $8 million a year for airlines willing to start new long-haul international routes. An individual route could earn up to $400,000 in reduced landing fees for the airline, in addition to marketing support, rent reductions and other perks. New domestic routes, meanwhile, will be encouraged through $3 million in incentives. A full vote is expected on Thursday.
