Report: Alabama's roads, bridges need improvements

A new report by a Washington research group found that the pavement on 13% of Alabama's major roads were in "poor" or "mediocre" condition. The Road Information Program report also found that about 25% of the state's bridges were structurally deficient or obsolete. Meanwhile, population growth in several parts of the state has led to an increase in traffic congestion, the report noted.
