Study: CPOE use complicated, adoption low in hospitals

The Leapfrog Group estimates that only 8% of hospitals in the U.S. have implemented computerized physician order entry systems, which advocates say can greatly reduce medical errors. A study by the group also found that many systems aren't foolproof and require customization to work with the needs of specific hospitals.
