Group criticizes plan to tighten rules on smog-causing pollutants

The Environmental Protection Agency's plan to impose tougher limits on smog-causing pollutants "lacks scientific justification and would likely be ineffective, the American Petroleum Institute said. "To do so is an obvious politicization of the air quality-standard-setting process that could mean unnecessary energy cost increases, job losses and less domestic oil and natural gas development and energy security."
