Monsanto gears up for R&D expansion of agricultural seeds

Monsanto announced that it will ramp up research and development efforts in agricultural seed technology to be able to launch new herbicide-tolerant and bug-resistant products over the next decade. Other seeds Monsanto hopes to roll out soon include "SDA omega-3 soybeans" geared toward the nutrition sector and a drought-tolerant corn being co-developed by BASF Plant Science that could be launched in 2012.
