Pediatric measures help predict risk for diabetes

Office-based measures for body mass index, blood pressure, cholesterol and insulin in children can help predict future cases of Type 2 diabetes, according to research from Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Having a parent with diabetes also was a predictor for future diabetes, the study showed.
