Lisa Michelson says she learned to be creative about bringing in sales after starting a fashion-handbag design business in New York a year ago. One of four entrepreneurs profiled by The New York Times because they started companies during the recession, Michelson says she takes trunk shows to retailers, giving them a cut of her profit, and also sells her products online.
