Coast Guard helicopters face adverse conditions to rescue workers from Alaska oil rig

The Kulluk oil rig was left powerless in the Gulf of Alaska after a buckle on the tow line connecting it to the Shell tug Aiviq broke on Dec. 29. Two Coast Guard helicopters faced heavy winds and violent seas while rescuing the 18 men aboard.
