Delayed Minn. wind project gets lift from PTC extension

RES Americas' proposed Pleasant Valley wind project in Mower County, Minn., is expected to move forward after Congress granted an extension to the wind-energy Production Tax Credit. "Pleasant Valley Wind Farm is shovel ready and is capable of meeting the 2013 construction start requirement in the PTC extension legislation," said Joe DeVito, the company's vice president of development. The 300-megawatt project has been in limbo for almost two years, mainly because of the uncertainty over the PTC.
