FAA approves installation of Garmin avionics on Piper turboprops

The Federal Aviation Administration granted a supplemental type certificate to Phoenix-based Cutter Aviation to retrofit Piper Meridian six-seat turboprop aircraft with Garmin G950 custom glass cockpit panel packages. The retrofit makes it possible for Piper owners to upgrade their aircraft to meet the newest requirements for NextGen airspace. "Piper Meridian owners have been asking for a fully integrated avionics upgrade for their aircraft, and we are pleased to now offer them such a package," said Will Cutter, president and CEO of Cutter Aviation.
