Internet Explorer added market share in 2012

Microsoft's Internet Explorer held 54.8% of the browser market as of Dec. 31, up from 51.9% at the beginning of the year, Net Applications says. IDC analyst Al Hilwa says "The turnaround can be traced back to the launch of IE9 and the pivot around HTML5 support, especially the Canvas functionality."
