LG to spend $12.6B this year on its display, electronics businesses

LG Group this year will invest $12.6 billion in LG Display and LG Electronics, its two main subsidiaries serving the consumer electronics market. Jeff Kang of Daishin Securities said, "Whether it be smartphones or television sets, the plan shows that LG sees growth potential in high-end display products." Meanwhile, LG Mobile Communications will focus on showcasing three handsets that came out in the second half of 2012 at CES rather than trot out new devices.
