Netgear, Asus roll out boxes with Google TV software

Netgear is looking to challenge Apple and Roku with its NeoTV Prime with Google TV box, unveiled Monday during Press Day at CES. It features the third version of the Google TV software and comes with a Chrome browser for Web applications. The Netgear box is priced at $130 and is now on sale in the U.S. Meanwhile, Asus introduced its Qube box for streaming movies and television episodes from Amazon, HBO, Google Play and Netflix. It also incorporates the Google TV software. Qube will be sold in the U.S. later in this quarter.
