Smart TV Alliance adds new member ahead of SDK release

Panasonic has become the newest member of the Smart TV Alliance, joining Toshiba, IBM and other firms that are seeking to create a scalable, universal standard for delivering smart-TV services over a variety of platforms. The coalition is scheduled to release a new version of its software development kit this week that will include updated support for several protocols and enhanced digital-rights-management features.
