Studies support safety of transradial PCI

Two recent studies examining the efficacy and safety of transradial-access percutaneous coronary intervention found support for the approach. An analysis of nearly 350,000 procedures in Europe found no increased risks of neurological complications with transradial access, while a U.S. study found fewer incidences of bleeding along with reduced in-hospital mortality risk among patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction who were treated with transradial PCI.
