Study links BPA exposure to prostate cancer

Men may be more susceptible to prostate cancer if exposed to low levels of bisphenol A during development, according to a University of Illinois at Chicago study. Mice implanted with human prostate stem cells were exposed to BPA and 45% of implanted cells developed precancerous or cancerous lesions. The study is controversial because it used BPA levels "more than 1,000 times higher than typical human exposures," said American Chemistry Council representative Steve Hentges.
