Michigan county considers reforms

Republicans in Oakland County have proposed enlarging the school board from five members to nine and are considering asking the state legislature to take away the district's authority to levy taxes. "There is an insufficient lack of oversight and blatant incompetence from the board," said Mary MacMaster, of the Oakland County Taxpayers Association.
