Corporate responsibility not a top priority for many investors

Though corporate responsibility is a popular story on the evening news, companies argue many investors are more concerned about the bottom line. Marilyn Carlson Nelson, chief executive of Carlson Companies, says investors need to understand the benefits of corporate social responsibility: "It is difficult for managers to 'do the right thing' when being driven by profit-oriented investors."
