Column: Small firms need broad choices in health coverage

Seattle merchants have expressed interest in a state-proposed buying pool so they can have access to affordable health care coverage, but they want it expanded so they can have a wider, more comprehensive selection of services. "Small-business owners are wise enough to be leery of so-called bare bones plans that sometimes are cheaper but fail to cover many of the illnesses encountered every day by normal families," says Seattle City Councilman Nick Licata in a guest column for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
