Study links legume intake to reduced diabetes risk

A five-year study of the dietary habits of more than 64,000 women found that those with a high intake of legumes, which include peanuts and soybeans, are 38% less likely to develop Type 2 diabetes. The study was limited to middle-aged Chinese women with no previous history of diabetes, cardiovascular disease or cancer.
