Husqvarna offered $2.5 million to stay in Charlotte

North Carolina officials have offered to pay up to a $2.5 million bonus to outdoor-products manufacturer Husqvarna if the company moves ahead with plans to consolidate its U.S. headquarters in Charlotte, double its workforce and keep those jobs for nine years. Officials said the bonus was made in response to overtures from South Carolina officials, who reportedly offered Husqvarna up to $11 million to relocate a few miles across the state line.
