Posted calorie counts not reliable, study says

A study in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association says calorie counts on prepared food are off by as much as 8%, while restaurant meals may have 18% more calories than listed. Also, restaurants often don't add the calories of included side dishes, said researcher Susan Roberts, a nutrition professor at Tufts University.
