Hypoglycemia cuts mortality risk in patients on intensive strategy

Recognized and unrecognized hypoglycemia appeared to be more common in adults with type 2 diabetes who were on intensive glucose control compared with those who received standard care, a study showed. However, hypoglycemic events were associated with a slight decrease in mortality risk in the intensive group, researchers reported in Diabetes Care.
