Passengers eye other airlines ahead of Southwest-AirTran merger

A survey by Travel Leaders indicates a shift in carrier preference among AirTran passengers to other airlines as Southwest Airlines prepares to remove business-class seats from flights as part of its merger with AirTran. "Taking away business-class seats from travelers that are on the road all the time, [who] are road warriors, hurts," said Leslie Garner, director of operations at Travel Leaders in Johns Creek, Ga.
