26 million taxpayers benefit from AMT reform

Provisions in last week's budget agreement that fixed issues with the alternative minimum tax will benefit millions of middle-class taxpayers. Had Congress not acted, 26 million more taxpayers would have been subject to the AMT in the 2012 tax year than in 2011. Making the fixes permanent also brings some certainty to financial planning.
