AMD, Acer, HP showcase tablets for various market segments

Acer, Hewlett-Packard and AMD introduced new tablets Monday. Acer unfolded a 7-inch Android device, the Iconia B1-A71, which it will price under $150, although the company offered no release date. AMD hopes to crack the tablet market with a high-end Wistron-made Windows 8 tablet based on its new Temash chip that features a 10.6-inch screen and supports full HD video. HP displayed its Windows-based ElitePro 900 for enterprises, which it originally announced in October.
