Connections may not help women in finance as much as they do men

Research indicates that men in the financial industry benefit from their connections far more than women do. Whereas men can get a leg up based on who they know, women may have to do more to establish trust. "This is a clear double standard. As a woman who has always worked on Wall Street, we are constantly in a fish bowl," said Elle Kaplan of Lexion Capital Management.
