CSX's partnership with customers led to $3.2B industrial investment

CSX's cooperation with shipping customers last year helped attract 105 new facility or expansion projects along its rail network, which led to $3.2 billion in industrial development and creation of 4,200 jobs, according to CSX. "These industrial facilities are expected to generate 162,000 carloads of new rail traffic in future years," said Clark Robertson, CSX assistant vice president of regional development. "The 2012 results were especially significant in the energy markets, such as new ethanol and crude oil terminals, natural gas processing facilities and drilling supply locations."
