Flag ruling in Northern Ireland fuels riots

Riots in Northern Ireland continued a fifth straight day after the Belfast City Council voted to discontinue a long-standing tradition of flying the Union Jack flag year-round and instead fly it only on certain days. Clashes erupted between pro-British demonstrators and police and between pro-British and pro-Irish groups. About 50 police officers have been hurt since protests began last week.
