Ohio city council creates student-led youth commission

The Cleveland Heights, Ohio, City Council voted to establish the Youth Advisory Commission, made up of 10 high-school students. The goal of the commission, which is scheduled to meet monthly, is to encourage youth participation in government and communication between young people and the council. "The creation of this Youth Advisory Commission is with the belief that our youth are our most precious resource and we need to listen to what they have to say," said Councilman Jason Stein, who introduced the legislation.
