Report: Sports sponsorships will grow 6% despite lack of big events

Sports sponsorships this year are on track to reach a new high of $13.79 billion, a 6% increase over 2012, IEG reports. The uptick in sports sponsorships would exceed a projected 2.3% growth in overall ad spending and is noteworthy because there are no blockbuster events like the Olympics or World Cup this year.
