Some UK schools test effects of free universal breakfast

In response to reports of hungry students in schools, a council in England has approved a three-month pilot programme in which all students in Blackpool schools will receive free breakfasts. The program will be open to all students -- regardless of their families' income -- and will include cereal, fruit and other items. Educators say they believe the programme will lead to higher academic achievement among students.
