Kan. considers requiring student-graduation plans

Eighth-graders in Kansas may have to complete a high-school graduation plan as part of a requirement under consideration by the Kansas State Board of Education. "A student who goes to college with no idea of what they want to do ends up with a lot of debt," said Randy Watson, superintendent of McPherson School District, where students already make graduation plans. "We're helping them figure out what they want to do now so they can avoid debt later."
