Study: Obese men more likely to die from prostate cancer

A study of the medical records on about 1,400 men with prostate cancer concludes that the risk of dying from the disease is higher among obese men. The cancer can be harder to detect, because the prostate gland is larger in obese men, and researchers urge health care providers to be especially thorough in checking obese patients for prostate cancer.
