Farmers, ranchers split over ethanol expansion

The annual American Farm Bureau Federation meeting displayed a divide as members tried to understand the implications of the booming ethanol industry on farmers, ranchers and grocery bills. Rural farmers and grain communities have experienced ethanol subsidies and the openings of new plants, but beef, chicken and pork producers have been worrying about the consequences of pricier feed corn.
