Wal-Mart under fire from community, investors

Wal-Mart has launched a political campaign-style ad push to bolster its flagging corporate image and to make the case that the arrival of a Wal-Mart store in a community is an economic boon to local consumers. The retail giant is enduring both criticism over its employee compensation and benefits and five years of relatively flat share prices.
