A fire that left an elderly man dead in Toronto has created a debate surrounding Ontario's building code. The code does not currently require sprinklers in new residential high rises, but the national building code does require sprinklers. "We need to enhance and encourage and implore the use of residential sprinklers in all new construction. We're going to continue to see people die, no matter what the age of the building," said Toronto Fire Chief Bill Stewart.
