Health IT spending to grow in 2009, report says

Market research firm Health Industry Insights reports spending for health care IT will continue to grow slowly in 2009, despite the recession. Reasons include the incoming Obama administration's funding for health IT, as well as consumer demand to lower health care costs. Providers and payers also will look to health IT to help manage costs, increase efficiency and improve care quality.
