CDC launches database for sudden unexpected infant deaths

The Sudden Unexpected Infant Death Case Registry aims to monitor reported cases of sudden infant death syndrome, CDC researchers wrote in the journal Pediatrics. The database is based on existing mortality records with additional information about events leading to a baby's death, to help improve preventive measures, co-author Carrie Shapiro-Mendoza said.
