LinkedIn has built a business by offering social-networking services for professionals, but a new breed of Facebook applications aims to duplicate many of LinkedIn's features. Apps such as BranchOut and BeKnown replicate LinkedIn's networking and job-hunting services, essentially adding a professional veneer to Facebook's existing network. "LinkedIn likes to say, 'Facebook is for fun and LinkedIn is for professional purposes.' What I like to argue is that's no longer correct," BranchOut CEO Rick Marini says.
