Symantec conducts damage control following security breach

A hacker breached the network defenses of a company affiliated with security firm Symantec, maker of the Norton brand of antivirus software, and stole source code to two dated versions of the company's products. Analysts say the theft of the code for Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 and Symantec Antivirus 10.2 is unlikely to affect consumers, as the products are more than five years old, but threatens to undermine Symantec's credibility.
