Target drops longtime ad agency Wieden+Kennedy

In a surprise move, Target dropped Wieden+Kennedy, which in 2009 became the retailer's lead advertising agency without review. Target has been without a chief marketing officer since Michael Francis left for J.C. Penney in October, but Marketing Vice President Shawn Gensch said the company "will leverage both our internal expertise and our strong roster of agency partners to help accomplish our marketing goals in 2012 and beyond."
