Trend report: A return to basics

A food trend report from the Hartman Group says consumers are growing skeptical of so-called superfruits such as goji berries and are instead turning to more familiar, healthful favorites such as cherries and blueberries. It also predicts real butter will gain popularity over margarine, stevia will gain over artificial sweeteners, and consumers will shift to whole, cage-free eggs over egg whites.
