Analogic pays $83M for Canadian ultrasound device firm

Ultrasonix Medical, which provides ultrasound devices in Canada, has been acquired by Analogic for $83 million in a cash deal set to be completed late next month. Analogic President and CEO Jim Green said the deal in part will help extend the reach of the company's direct ultrasound business to the point-of-care ultrasound device arena.
