CEA's CEO reveals studio plans for free UltraViolet movies

Consumers will gain free access to a select number of movies available via the cloud-based UltraViolet service when they purchase an Internet-connected Blu-ray disc player or television set, Consumer Electronics Association President and CEO Gary Shapiro revealed in his annual State of the CE Industry keynote address at the 2013 International CES. Warner Bros. President Ron Sanders said there are more than 9 million active UltraViolet accounts at present in the U.S., a figure that is shortly expected to top 10 million.
