Online to see sharpest growth in local ad spending, topping newspapers

Gains in online ad spending are expected to account for most of the predicted 8.2% growth in all local ad spending this year, according to a report by Borrell Associates. Online ads are expected to constitute a quarter of the total local spend in 2013, increasing 31% from 2012 figures and topping newspapers' projected 2013 share of 18.6%.
