Report: Auto, education borrowing increased in November

Consumer borrowing rose by $16 billion from October to November to a seasonally adjusted record of $2.77 trillion, the Federal Reserve reports. Borrowing for autos and student loans led the growth, with an increase of $15.2 billion. Credit card debt increased $817 million, the Fed says.
