Retail vacancy rates continue to edge down in Q4

Vacancy rates for retail centers edged down to 8.6% in the fourth quarter of 2012, a dip of one-tenth of a percentage point from the previous quarter, according to Reis. Vacancy rates in this asset class continue to drop, having declined five quarters in a row since the third quarter of 2011, when they hit 9.4%.
