T-Mobile USA will today begin selling its $70 unlimited data plan on a contract-free basis after CEO John Legere on Tuesday fiercely defended the strength of the prepaid business. "This theory that the prepaid market is dying is wrong," he said at an analysts' conference, adding that the carrier will also begin to sell the iPhone within three to four months. Legere said the prepaid plan was designed to take subscribers from his larger rivals. Dell and Hewlett-Packard are partnering with T-Mobile to provide 200 megabytes of wireless service free with a laptop purchase. T-Mobile also said that it will speed up its plans to deliver nationwide Long-Term Evolution service.
