Planned job layoffs in U.S. dip to 13-year low

Planned U.S. layoffs fell to the lowest level since 2000 last month, according to a private gauge that reinforces expectations of a favorable jobs report for December. The report by Challenger, Gray & Christmas showed expected layoffs were down 32% in December from the previous month and 6% from a year before.
